The Movie Club: No 10

We are in the double digits of movie club and it’s a brand new decade. I want to say that in 2020 I will try and post more on here but it wont happen. Baby boy is about 5/6 weeks out and I hear motherhood takes up a lot of time. The dog blog is low on my priority list.

I don’t even know what I would blog about. In my mind, I would make things and show you how. A diy blog for home things but chic. I love making things and really need to do a cornice for our bedroom so that could be the perfect starting place. I def will do a little blog post on baby boy’s room. Honestly, I am having more anxiety over the design of his room than actually becoming a mom. People just keep saying how excited they are to see it, it might be a complete disaster! I have no clue how it’s all going to come together in the next few weeks. Also. let’s chalk the zen feeling regarding becoming a mom to ignorance being bliss.

Movie time. Picking Edward Scissorhands felt like a cop out but I really couldn’t think of something better at the time. In the end, I regret nothing. That movie is damn near perfect. The only thing that would make it better would be for Edward to get hands and fall in love with Winona and they would have little monster babies and live happily ever after. I just love a happy ending. Maybe that would ruin it though. Either way, it was so good.

I feel like Tim Burton has really jumped the shark so I kinda over look his old movies even though I know they are incredible. Edward Scissorhands is so beautiful. The cinematography feels like David Hockney painting come to life. I used to watch the movie all the time as a kid but seeing it with fresh eyes was a completely different experience. It is so beautifully made. I want more more more. Someone needs to pull all of Tim Burtons funding and make him go back to basics so he can make more perfect movies again. I am not into CGI. Imagine if they had made the new cat’s movie by building actual sets and costumes and none of that digital mombo jumbo? I bet it wouldn’t be in the red 100mil.

So ya, I loved it. I wish Winona wasn’t blonde in it but I will let it slide. I feel like none of you watched it cause it’s so obvious but if you haven’t seen it in forever, watch. It’s a good time.

Now, moving on to The Movie Club: No 10… I wanted to pick something about new beginnings and fresh starts. After all, it is a brand new decade! And my friend Megan was watching this last week and was like you need to watch and I was like omg I love that move and she was like it should be a movie club pick and I was like omg DUH it’s perfect for January. So here we are and here it is:
